Job Description

One of our clients based in the Southern Suburbs Constantia  , Cape Town is looking for a SPA Operations /Human Resources Manager,  with a strong HR background to coordinate and oversee our organization’s operations. The role includes implementing efficient processes and practices, formulating strategies, improving performance and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Additionally, this position will play a pivotal role in HR functions such as recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge & Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience in Corporate Human Resources.
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager/ SPA or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with the Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Skincare, and Beauty Industry, particularly with the Bargaining Council will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of HR management, performance management systems, and recruitment processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Operations Management

  • Implement efficient processes and practices across the organization.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Improve performance through effective management and coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor team members and enhance the quality of customer service.
  • Oversee financial processes such as auditing, reporting, and budgeting.

Human Resources Functions

- Provide comprehensive HR services including recruitment, selection, performance management, and employee relations.

- Identify skills gaps and training needs; advise on the best approach to bridge these gaps.

- Ensure compliance and consistency in the application of company policies.

- Advise management on dispute management.

- Liaise with the Director to ensure effective delivery of HR services.

Additional Responsibilities

- Long-term planning to support the company’s goals.

- Coordinating different teams to foster an exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.

- Assessing and analyzing departmental budgets to find ways to optimize profitability.

- Inspiring and motivating employees through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives.

- Communicating with stakeholders about shifting company priorities and projects.

- Identifying potential problems and points of friction and finding solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue

Identifying opportunities to expand or shift course based on market changes.

- Enforcing regulatory and safety standards.

- Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way.

- Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.

- Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant.

- Recruit, train, and supervise staff.

- Find ways to increase the quality of customer service.
