Job Description

Internal Sales Executive

Our client’s core business focuses on the distribution of various pipes, clamps, fuel equipment, and related components to industries such as food and beverage, agriculture, fuel, and transport, among others. The internal sales team plays a vital role in servicing a significant portion of the debtor book and providing essential support to our client’s external sales team.

Overall Responsibility: As an internal sales executive, your overall responsibility revolves around driving sales within the organization by effectively managing relationships with existing clients and seeking out new business opportunities. For an internal sales executive, it is pivotal in driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and fostering strong client relationships. By effectively managing the sales process, collaborating with internal teams, and staying abreast of industry trends, you contribute to the overall success and profitability of the organization.

This position is based in Stikland Industrial, Cape Town.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities

  1. Client Relationship Management
    • Communicate with customers and follow up on leads.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Provide product information and demonstrations.
    • Identify and close sales opportunities.
    • Ensure client satisfaction and resolve inquiries.
  2. Business Development Management
    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
    • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends.
    • Develop strategies to expand the client base.
    • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns and materials.
  3. Performance Tracking and Reporting
    • Maintain a customer database.
    • Upsell products and services.
    • Track sales activities and prepare reports.
    • Analyze sales data for insights and improvements.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with marketing, product development, and support teams.
    • Share client feedback to inform internal strategies.
    • Coordinate with finance and operations for smooth processes.
  5. Continuous Learning and Development
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
    • Participate in training and seek feedback for growth.
  6. Sales Process Management
    • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to post-sales support.
    • Qualify leads and close deals efficiently.
